TL;DR
FlashNest (current version) keeps your study data locally on your device. We do not keep a server copy, do not sell personal data, and do not store chat on our servers or use it to train models. In the future, sync/backup may be added as an optional (opt‑in) feature.

2) Local‑Only Storage (Current Version)
- Flashcards, images, audio notes, study stats, and settings are stored on your device.
- We do not upload or keep this content on our servers.
- Uninstalling the app removes local data (subject to OS behavior).
3) What Lives on Your Device
- Flashcard content: questions/answers, optional images, and voice notes.
- Preferences & usage: theme, language, notifications, local study stats.
- Chat (AI assistant): conversations may be stored locally for your convenience; they are not stored on our servers or used to train models.
4) What We Do NOT Do
- We do not keep your personal data on our servers in the current version.

5) App Permissions (Why We Ask)
- Microphone: record audio for cards (files remain local).
- Photos/Media: attach images to cards (they stay on your device).
We do not collect data in the background; permissions are only used when you choose the feature.
6) Sync & Cloud (Future, Optional)
For convenience, we may introduce sync/backup. This feature will be off by default and requires your explicit consent. Before launch, we will update this policy with details on retention, encryption, and deletion.
7) Retention & Deletion
- Your data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- In‑app options will let you clear local items (e.g., chat history or decks).
- OS‑level protections (screen lock, OS security) help protect local data.
8) Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA‑Style)
- Access, correction, and deletion of personal data.
- Request data export (when available).
- Submit requests via in‑app settings (if available) or email.
9) Children & Parents
